
In January-April 2025 the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 7 755.7 million, 15.3% higher year-on-year, reads the report of GeoStat.
Exports equaled 2 014.4 million (14.2% higher), while imports stood at USD 5 741.3 million (15.7% higher). Negative trade balance was USD 3 726.9 million in January-April 2025, its share in external trade turnover constituted 48.1%.
In January-April 2025 the share of the top-10 trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 80.2%. The top partners were Kyrgyzstan (USD 450.0 mln), Kazakhstan (USD 258.4 mln), Azerbaijan (USD 215.1 mln).
In January-April 2025 the share of the top-10 trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 72.7%. The top partners were USA (USD 881.2 million), Türkiye (USD 814.2 million) and Russia (USD 669.6 million).
In January-April 2025 share of the top-10 trading partners in the total external trade turnover of Georgia amounted to 69.9%. The top trading partners were Türkiye (USD 914.3 mln), USA (USD 902.0 mln) and Russia (USD 859.1 mln).
In January-April 2025 motor cars claimed the 1st place in the list of top export items, equaling USD 753.9 million with 37.4% of total exports. Exports of precious metal ores and concentrates totaled USD 96.3 million, their share in the total exports amounted to 4.8%. Exports of spirituous beverages occupied the third place standing at USD 76.5 mln and constituting 3.8% of the total exports.
The top import commodities in January-April 2025 were motor cars, whose imports equaled USD 966.4 million (16.8% of the total imports). The paintings, drawings and pastels (executed entirely by hand) followed in the list with USD 481.2 million (8.4% of imports). The petroleum and petroleum oils were third in the top import commodity list with USD 396.5 million (6.9% of imports).
