The Special Investigation Service [SIS] will be integrated into the Prosecutor`s Office of Georgia. At today`s session of the Parliamentary Bureau, a legislative package was introduced proposing the abolition of the SIS.

According to the draft amendments, the Law on the SIS will be declared null and void, with the positions of Head of the Service, along with the First Deputy and Deputy, to be abolished.

The amendments also specify provisions regarding monetary compensation for its officials and employees. The Draft Law stipulates that criminal cases currently under the jurisdiction of the SIS will be transferred to Prosecutor`s Office.
