The Parliament, at the plenary session, elected Giorgi Gabitashvili with 84 votes for the position of the Auditor General. Prior to voting, his candidacy was discussed and approved by the Budget and Finance Committee.

The candidate was introduced by the Speaker of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, in line with paragraph 2, Article 69 of the Constitution of Georgia, paragraph 1, Article 9 of the Organic Law on the State Audit Office, and subparagraph “y”, paragraph 2, Article 18, and Article 2045 of the Rules of Procedure.

The Speaker congratulated Giorgi Gabitashvili on his election on the position of the Auditor General.
