The Prime Minister of Georgia expressed deep gratitude to Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orbán for Hungary’s support of Georgia’s sovereignty and its path toward European Union membership at the joint press conference in Budapest.
“I want to thank you for supporting Georgia’s European path. We have a very clear and ambitious goal – for Georgia to become an EU member state by 2030.
By 2028, we have planned to fulfil 90% of the obligations under the Association Agreement, as well as 90% of the obligations under the Free Trade Agreement. In this regard, even expert cooperation and your support in any direction are very important for our country.
We face very similar challenges, and standing together to address these challenges is, of course, crucial. Once again, thank you very much for your support, and Georgia will always stand where the interests of the Hungarian people lie. We feel a duty to reciprocate appropriately for the support we feel and receive from you.
The Georgian people appreciate your personal support, Mr. Prime Minister, and Hungary’s support for Georgia. The current state of our partnership creates a very good foundation for further developing our relations, and the dynamics are positive. We will do everything to further strengthen and develop bilateral cooperation between our countries”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
