Official visit of Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister and Government delegation of Georgia to Hungary has concluded

The official visit of Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister and the government delegation of Georgia to Hungary has concluded.

At Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, the Prime Minister of Georgia was seen off by Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, Minister of Defence of Hungary.

The Head of Government of Georgia summarized the two-day official visit during a briefing with the media.

As he noted, during the Georgia-Hungary Intergovernmental Summit, cooperation prospects in all areas were discussed and several memorandums were signed, covering the development of political relations, as well as trade, economy, culture, education and agriculture.

"Within the framework of the Georgia-Hungary Intergovernmental Summit, we discussed cooperation prospects in absolutely every direction. The Government of Georgia arrived in Budapest with virtually its full composition. Ministers held meetings with their Hungarian counterparts to review both the progress achieved and future perspectives in each sector.

Memorandums were signed in four main areas, aimed at deepening cooperation in specific sectors. These included the enhancement of political relations, the strengthening of trade and economic ties, and cooperation in the fields of culture, education and agriculture. In fact, the agenda covered every topic relevant to the development of bilateral relations.

Once again, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Hungary for its exceptional support of our country. Hungary is the strongest supporter of Georgia`s European integration and I thank the Prime Minister of Hungary and the Hungarian government for that. We will do everything to further strengthen bilateral ties between our two countries", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.

As part of the official visit to Hungary, an Official Reception for the Prime Minister of Georgia was held at the Carmelite Palace. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán hosted his Georgian counterpart for a tête-à-tête meeting, followed by the second session of the Georgia-Hungary Intergovernmental Summit, co-chaired by both Prime Ministers. The Heads of Governments also held a joint press conference. During the official visit, the Prime Minister of Georgia also held meetings with Tamás Sulyok, President of Hungary and László Kövér, Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary.
