Tbilisi hosts International Conference on Financial Technologies

Tbilisi hosts International Conference on Financial Technologies, organized by the National Bank of Georgia [NBG]. The Mayor of Tbilisi, attended the event.

"I am pleased that our capital city is hosting yet another important event aimed at strengthening the country`s economy. The technological infrastructure in Georgia is already quite developed. Particularly notable is the commercial banking sector and the innovations it has introduced, which simplify the daily financial operations of citizens.

Our country`s geographic location offers the opportunity to combine cultural diversity and ease of doing business within the fintech sector, which, in turn, increases the demand for the introduction of innovative technologies and services. Technology can overcome geographic barriers, increase the speed, security, and transparency of transactions, and offer financial services better tailored to the needs of both local users and tourists", - said Kakha Kaladze in his address.

The international conference aimed at raising awareness about the Fintech Development Strategy, also sought to enhance cooperation between the public and private sectors - both in the strategy`s formulation and its practical implementation.

"The NBG`s Fintech Development Strategy, prepared with the support of the World Bank, reflects our vision for the development of the fintech ecosystem in Georgia. We hope that today`s conference will contribute to forming a unified vision for the development of Georgia`s fintech industry, in order to further strengthen our competitiveness both in the region and internationally", - said Natia Turnava, Governor of the NBG.
