Anticorruption Bureau reported on activity for 2024 to the Committees

The Human Rights and Civil Integration, and the Legal Issues Committees heard the activity report for 2024 of the Anticorruption Bureau, introduced by the Head of the Bureau, Razhden Kuprashvili. According to him, the Bureau, in view of ensuring equal and competitive electoral environments free of improper influence, has monitored the legality and transparency of the financial activities of the parties and electoral subjects.

For the first time in January 2024, the political parties were required to submit their financial declarations to the Bureau.

The reporter presented the procedures for political officials to complete their property declarations.

According to him, by submitting the declarations, the officials express their accountability to the state and society.

Based on the data, 6970 persons submitted their property declarations during the period of January 1-December 31, 2023.

The reporter highlighted the national anticorruption strategy, international cooperation and inter-agency coordination, protection of whistleblowers, ethics and integrity, and IT development.

“The development of the national anticorruption strategy and the action plan was designated as one of the fundamental directions of the Bureau’s activities for 2024. The Bureau’s vision is that the national anticorruption strategy will be grounded in a comprehensive analysis of the current situation and anticipated challenges. The successful implementation of this strategy hinges on the establishment and uninterrupted operation of the centralised assessment platform and its associated methodologies”, - he elucidated.

The Committees gave a positive assessment of the report.
