The 64th round of international discussions is currently underway in Geneva.
The Georgian delegation, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia, has traveled to the discussions. Among the delegation members is Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.
Key topics for this round of discussions include Russia’s compliance with its international obligations under the EU-mediated 12 August 2008 Ceasefire Agreement, as well as return of internally displaced persons and refugees in the safe and dignified manner.
“At this round of international negotiations in Geneva, we will address the various challenges facing our population. This includes systematic illegal detentions, for which we will respond appropriately and seek the unconditional release of those detained, in coordination with our international partners.
Another critical issue will be the return of displaced persons to their homes, along with the urgent matter of banning education in the Georgian language in the occupied territories. We face significant challenges in this area, and this format allows us to discuss these issues more comprehensively with our international partners”, - said Giorgi Jincharadze.
The 64th round of international negotiations in Geneva is scheduled for June 25-26.
