Starting from today , universal public discussion of constitutional amendments begins. The first meeting will be held in Kutaisi. Organizational Commission field trips will be held in different cities during 11 days.

According to the parliamentary majority, meetings with population will end on May 15 in Tbilisi. By the end of May, discussion of the draft constitutional amendments will be resumed in the parliament. The ruling team states that universal discussions are an important part of the process.

European Georgia will be involved in the general discussion of the amendments to the Constitution. According to party leaders, they are planning to discuss the faults of the constitutional project developed by the parliamentary majority at the meetings.

The National Movement is calling the process false. Opposition party leaders will not take part in discussions. According to the party, their meetings with population will be held in parallel regime.
