Chairman of Parliament makes explanation about the abolition of Governor`s position. Irakli Kobakhidze says the change is technical and says that it is only about changing the name and the Governor may be called a Mayor.

"It is only about changing the name. Governor may be called a Mayor, which is a common practice in Europe. This change does not affect the institution,it only refers to the name. This is a purely technical change. It often leads to the confusion of these terms, people think that the mayor is something else and the governor is different and has different competences, at the same time they have the same authority , "- said Irakli Kobakhidze.
All municipalities will have only Mayor after a new reform.
