Prosecutor"s Office of Georgia has launched an investigation on the basis of public information , released by the State Audit Office on transfer of property in 2006 by Tbilisi City Hall.

The case concerns the facts of abuse of official authority and the possibility of exceeding official powers.

The agency has released information on the official web site.

"According to the Article 241 of the Law of Georgia, the material of the State Audit Service, which contains marks of offense should be immediately sent to the law enforcement agencies. The State Audit Office delays the process,. Before releasing the information the Prosecutor"s Office has appealed to the State Security Office and demanded to send material. The State Audit Service has not delivered it till now,"- is stated in the document.

" Chief Prosecutor"s Office appealed to the State Audit Office once again today for the purpose of conducting a thorough and objective investigation into the criminal case in order to obtain the necessary audit materials for the investigation.

We will inform the society on the results of the investigation, "the statement reads.
