Another open support of NATO Parliamentary Assembly leaders to Georgia. In the morning, together with Georgian officials, European politicians reaffirmed the decision of the Bucharest summit and noted that Georgia will become an alliance member.

In response to Rustavi 2`s questioning, Paolo Ali spoke about Russian threats in the region. The joint session of the NATO-Georgia Council and Standing Committee was closed for media today.

During four days, NATO`s parliamentary assembly will be discussing the Defense and Security Strategies of Georgia, Russian Military Modernization and Black Sea Region, Afghanistan and Syria. Members of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly will receive a declaration supporting Georgia`s Euro-Atlantic integration.

In parallel to the committee hearings, delegations also have meetings in bilateral format. Besides Georgia, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly has been held in non-NATO countries only four times, and all four countries are already members of NATO.
