A list of five candidates for the position of Strasbourg Court Judge will be presented today. The third stage of the competition is underway in the Ministry of Justice. During the day, 11 applicants must be interviewed.

Candidates evaluate the interview process positively and all of them hope to fall into the list of 5 people that has to be submitted and finally approved by the government.

Member of the High Council of Justice, Tamar Alania says that she has positive expectations and believes that she has coped with all the questions.

"Questions were raised about my activities in respect of the cases discussed. The questions were about same-sex marriage, as well as with respect to the freedom of expression, "Tamar Alania said.

Sopo Japaridze, the prime minister`s assistant for human rights and gender equality issues made a statement about the questions raised at the interview.

"Questions were about professional experience as well as previous career activities. As well as those possible reforms, which I will carry out if I become a judge of the European Court, "- Sopho Japaridze said.

The Commission is headed by Justice Minister Tea Tsulukiani. Its composition includes representatives of NGOs, the Public Defender and the Chairman of the Bar Association.

"Many qualified candidates have submitted applications. Yesterday`s interviews confirmed that there are many decent candidates who have a decent past and are very serious professionals, "- Zaza Khatiashvili said.
