Mikheil Chokheli, Deputy Head of Investigation Department of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance has resigned. The reason for his decision was the incident between the former Chief Prosecutor and General Auditor at Cafe El Centro.

Mikheil Chokheli has released this statement. He accompanied Otar Partskhaladze when the incident happened.

"The public is well aware of the events in the Club El Centro, the investigation into which has been launched and I have been interviewed as a witness in the case. We have all witnessed subjective and unsubstantiated statements in connection with thye fact, including against me personally. I have been a public servant for many years, mainly working in law enforcement agencies and I feel my responsibility before the society. Thus, since I am a participant of this incident, even though I have not committed any crime, in order not to put shadow on the public service, in particular the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance, each employee of which is serving the good in the country and this service is very valuable for me, I tooj a painful decision and considered it appropriate to leave my position. I provided the information of the law enforcement officers and I hope that the investigation will be completed in a short time, "- says Mikheil Chokheli`s statement.
