The Baku Court did not satisfy the motion of advocates of Afgan Mukhtar. The defense side requestedto change the preventive measure for the journalist , but the judge did not satisfy the motion.

According to the attorney, the court considered that in case of release from prison, the journalist may influence the investigation, which is illogical, as the preliminary investigation has already been completed.

Afgan Mukhtar, who was criticizing the Azerbaijani authorities, was kidnapped on May 29 from Tbilisi. The next day he was in Baku. The journalist is accused of smuggling , violation of border and the resistance to the border guards, but he himself denies all charges.
