Azeri court beginsconsideration of Afgan Mukhtarli case

The Azerbaijani court starts discussion of the case of Azerbaijani journalist Apgan Mukhtarli.

The trial in the first instance court of the city of Belakani is scheduled for today. The Georgian lawyer says that the charge is unfounded and does not hope for objectivity of the court

The Prosecutor"s Office charges the journalist with three articles. Illegal crossing of border, resistance to border guards and smuggling.

Mukhtarli is facing according to Azerbaijan"s jurisdiction with a 10-year sentence.
