The detained Anatoly Berdzenishvili is supposed to be charged today. The State Security Service arrested another person yesterday for charges of financing terrorism. Berdzenishvili was visited by his lawyer late last night. Eldar Gvalia says he is using his right to remain silent until now.

"I know that he is an honest man, since 2003 he has built churches and monasteries in Georgia and as he explained that he has never been an enemy of Georgia," -said his lawyer Eldar Gvalia.

According to the information, at this stage of the investigation it is established that detained Anatoly Berdzenishvili arrived in Turkey to help Akhmed Chataev and his members. The detainee, together with Zurab Gornamakashvili and Zurab Idoyidze, helped Akhmed Chataev and its members to move to the Turkish-Georgian border and to the green line of Kirnati-Maradidi.

Berdzenishvili was arrested in Tbilisi The investigation charges him with facing terrorism, providing other material support or resources for terrorist activities. In case of conviction, he is facing imprisonment for 17 - 20 years or life imprisonment.
