Representatives of private TV companies evaluate ongoing processes in Public Broadcaster

The ongoing processes in the Public Broadcaster were discussed at the meeting of the civil society. Together with the processes in the Public Broadcaster, the bill on "Broadcasting" was discussed at the meeting, which the president has vetoed and which is still a subject of discussion.

Representatives of private sector and non-governmental organizations also set up an action plan at the meeting.

Tamta Muradashvili, a lawyer for Rustavi2 broadcasting company welcomes this meeting and points out that today they talked about ways to improve these issues.

Director General of the Kavkasia Nino Jangirashvili notes that "the GPB is in a real crisis."

Natia Kuprashvili, executive director of the Association of Regional Broadcasters, talked about the financial violations revealed by the State Audit in the Public Broadcaster.

According to Kuprashvili, the audit report states that the surveillance is not carried out by the board and it is not involved in the functioning of the Public Broadcaster.
