Third sector calls on Prosecutor"s Office to start investigation based on audit`s conclusion

"It"s not just an ordinary conclusion. We are talking about alleged corruption and we think that it is very important that relevant investigative bodies are interested in this fact, "- said Eka Gigauri, executive director of the NGO "Transparency International Georgia ".

According to the audit report published today, the Tbilisi City Hall created special conditions for the former chief prosecutor Otar Partskhaladze, which financially damagedthe capital government due to the lack of competition.

Eka Gigauri recollects the physical violence carried out against the former head of the audit when Lasha Tordia was allegedly beaten for this report. According to Eka Gigauri, the Parliament did not react to this fact.

"I do not have any hope that this will be investigated, because there are very influential people, but once more, we have nothing to hide. The society knows what was happening in this regard, the Audit Office wrote this conclusion, so now it is the turn of the state to investigate and punish those individuals, "-
Gigauri said.
