There will be severe consequences - NGOs assess adoption of Law on Broadcasting

Non-governmental organizations for the media market consider overcoming the President`s motivated remarks to be a threat . In the civil sector, the idea of selling commercial advertisments on the public TV is containing the risk of corruption.

According to the law, the public broadcaster will have advertising revenues in addition to 52 million.

"Funding is rising, but its rating is declining, it will not be good for media and what is not good for media, it is not good for a democratic state," said Mamuka Andguladze, manager of the Transparency International Georgia Program
