Ana Dolidze, the non-judge member appointed by the President to the Justice Council, speaks about the necessity of amendments to the Law on Common Courts.

Dolidze"s initiative refers to the appointment of judges and she intends to present it to the board at today"s sitting.

According to the initiative, towards the judge, who is to be appointed for lifetime by the High Council of Justice, the decision of the European Court of Human Rights should l be taken into consideration.

In addition, according to another initiative, the chairperson of the court shall be elected by random voting . The initiative will be discussed at the session of the Council of Justice.

"The epoch when the chairman of the court was the director of the court should end. Therefore the chairman should be elected by random voting, "said Anna Dolidze.
