The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia draws attention to the demographic problem facing the country. Ilia II stated that in a short time the population will be decreased by 28% and in this context the attention of abortions is highlighted.

"In a short time the population is expected to decrease by 28% , which will have a grave consequence for our nation as a whole, in our opinion, it is necessary to create a negative attitude towards abortion as a grave sin, and in the first stage it is necessary to work out a separate law for assisting a certain part of families with many children.

"It will be good for the country to create special conditions for both Georgian and other ethnic families with many children," says the epistle. In this process, Ilia II imposes responsibility for everyone, especially legislators.
