It is absolutely understandable that the parliamentary majority wants to protect society from the possible development of such processes in Georgia – Kobakhidze on anti-LGBT draft law

It is absolutely understandable that the parliamentary majority wants to protect society from the possible development of such processes in Georgia. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia, while talking about the initiative of the ruling force “that will protect the society from pseudo-liberal ideology and its inevitable harmful consequences”.

“I understand the concerns of the parliamentary majority, there are serious trends in different states, which are directly reflected in the statistics. It is absolutely understandable that the parliamentary majority wants to protect society from the possible development of such processes in Georgia.

Let’s see the rest, the draft law should be prepared in accordance with the principles of the second chapter of the Constitution of Georgia, this is the main defining principle for me. If the government’s involvement is necessary, I don’t know in what form or how, but we may also take part in such a thing. I will repeat once again, most importantly, the principles of the constitution must be respected when such a draft law is prepared, and I am sure that it will be prepared with such principles”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
