Alexi Adeishvili, who was illegally detained near the village of Akhmaji by the Russian occupation forces, is free and is in the territory controlled by the central Government.

According to the State Security Service of Georgia [SSSG], in the process of his releasing, the “hotline” mechanism and all relevant tools at the disposal of the central Government, were actively used.

“The central Government of Georgia provided information to international partners on a permanent basis. The issue was raised at the meetings held within the framework of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism format.

Responsibility for all destructive actions carried out in the occupied regions of Georgia and along the occupation line rests with the occupying power.

The central Government, together with international partners, continues to work actively to release all citizens of Georgia who are illegally imprisoned in the occupied territories”, - reads the statement of the SSSG.
