Georgian Airways, Sichuan International Tourism Department sign a memorandum on the opening of regular passenger flights between Georgia, China

Cargo flights between Tbilisi and the Chinese city of Chengdu have started. Chengdu Airport received the first cargo flight of “Boeing 767” of the “Georgian Airways”.

A ceremonial event was held in Chengdu in connection with the opening of cargo flights from Tbilisi. Work is underway to start passenger flights.

“Georgian Airways” signed the relevant memorandum with Sichuan International Tourism Department. Within the framework of the agreement, the airline will start flights to Chengdu from June, 2024.

The document was signed by Tamaz Gaiashvili, president of “Georgian Airways Group” and Deng Fang, Secretary General of the Sichuan Tourism Department and chairman of the Chamber of Commerce.

The memorandum also involves promotion of economic, cultural and business relations between Tbilisi and Chengdu.
