Statement by EUMM Georgia Head of Mission Bettina Patricia Boughani on the temporary opening of crossing points along the South Ossetian Administrative Boundary Line during the upcoming Orthodox Easter holidays.

“I welcome the temporary opening of the Odzisi and Karzmani crossing points on the Orthodox Easter, from 3-6 May. This will enable people on both sides of the Administrative Boundary Line to reunite with their families and visit religious sites.

The co-facilitators of the Ergneti IPRM format continue to advocate for the full reopening of all crossing points.

Freedom of movement restrictions have a negative impact on the daily life of the conflict-affected population”, - reads the statement.
