Georgian people deserve visa-free regime, but not the government - Jacek Saryusz-Wolski

The Vice-President of the European People"s Party, Jacek Saryusz-Wolski has made another statement  in Brussels regarding the Supreme Court1s decision on Rustavi2 case . In an interview with the Courier , he spoke about the expected adverse effect and expressed initiative regarding the suspension of the enforcement of the decision onvisa liberalization .

"This is clearly the wrong decision, it was a political decision, the responsibility for which is on Ivanishvili and his government. It was done the next day after receiving viza free regime, which was a mockery of the European Union. In such a situation, until the fate of Rustavi2is decided, the viza liberalization process must be stopped, because Georgia does not meet the criteria. The European Union has every reason to feel cheated by Georgia. Georgian people deserve visa-free regime, but not the government, which is informaly rules by Ivanishvili, "- said Jacek Saryusz-Wolski.

He noted that he would apply to the Commission to suspend the decision on visa regime.

"If the government thinks that the association process will continue as if nothing happened, then I want to remind them that this process has an end as well," - said Jacek Saryusz-Wolski.
