HRW calls on the government not to change owners till Strasbourg Court"s decision

A South Caucasus director at Human Rights Watch makes an announcement.
Giorgi Gogia says that “A government-favored change in the editorial policy of Rustavi 2 would deliver a serious blow to Georgia’s media pluralism and could significantly limit the public’s access to opposition views."

According to him "the entire process of contesting Rustavi 2’s ownership threatens media freedom and judicial independence and demands further scrutiny.”

Human Rights Watch called on the government not to execute the verdict of the Supreme Court until the final decision of the Strasbourg Court.
