" Indirect elections of the president is in absolute compliance with the principle of the state structure,"- Koba Narchemashvili

President will not be elected directly by Georgian citizens in 2023. The Chief Commander will be elected by the parliament.

Georgian Dream explains that the decision is already made about direct elections in 2018.

"It would be better to avoid some of the speculation in 2018 and hold direct elections. Further we have to write in transitional provision hat the indirect elections should be held,"- said Koba Narchemashvili, member of Georgian Dream.
