The deputy chairman of the UNM faction, Salome Samadashvili, criticized the ruling party`s for attempts to change the rules for electing of the President. She said that the Georgian Dream is depriving the population of the right to elect the President.

"Depriving the people of Georgia of the right to elect President is the restriction of our rights," - said Salome Samadashvili.
Salome Samadashvili said that the President should play a balancing role. She also stressed that the attempt to establish indirect election of the president is directed against a specific person.

Salome Samadashvili shares the position of the NGOs regarding the proportional representation of MPs in teh Parliament.

"Much more logical would be to be distributed in proportion to the votes of all parties on their compliance," - said Salome Samadashvili.

Salome Samadashvili considers interesting Khmaladze`s initiative, according to which the President should be chosen by the Parliament together with civil society groups. However, at this point, she said, the president must be chosen by the public.
