The Constitutional Commission refuted the so-called Strasbourg model which meant giving addition function to the Constitutinal Court.

The information was provided to journalists by constitutionalist Vakhushti Menabde yesterday,after the commission session.

The initiative envisaged empowering the Constitutional Court with authority to review and determine the constitutionality of the cases considered by general courts.

"Unfortunately, this issue has been rejected and the Commission has made a decision, according to which the Constitutional Court is not authorized to be given this function ," - said Vakhushti Menabde.
