The UN Security Council members have unanimously condemned Russia`s actions in the occupied territories.

Besides the Russian representative everyone had a common position on this issue. Council members condemned the so-called Parliamentary elections on the occupied territory,, as well as the closure of the crossing points and planned referendum in the occupied region .

They also expressed support for Georgia`s territorial integrity. The situation in the occupied regions was discussed at the UN Security Council closed session.

The issue raised was raised by a representative of Ukraine. Ukrainian and British representatives to the Security Council held a press conference later.

" What is happening in the occupied territories was unanimously condemned. The elections of the so-called Parliament, which were held in Abkhazia, the closure of the crossing points, the expected referendum to change the name of the region. The support to the territorial integrity of Georgi was once again reaffirmed, "- said the permanent representative to the United Nations, Kakha Imnadze.
