PACE Monitoring Committee members congratulated Georgia on visa-free regime

PACE Monitoring Committee members who are on visit in Tbilisi congratulated citizens of Georgia on enactment of visa-free regime.

They also paid attention to the obligations that should be met when travelling to Europe.

Members of the delegation will continue to hold meetings and in addition to the Parliament will also visit the Ministry of Justice. They will also talk to the chief prosecutor and the public defender. Tomorrow they are s scheduled to meet with the Prime Minister.

"I congratulate my Georgian friends. This is a symbolic step. Georgia certainly deserves it as it is a very important part of Europe. Latvia has always actively supported the visa-free regime, and I am glad that it is has been done. As for my meeting, I do not want at this stage to comment on its content, because the process is ongoing. Our position will be traditionally expressed in our report, "- said the PACE Monitoring Committee member Boris Silevich.
