Presidential election rules, authority, model of the parliamentary elections and local elections - these issues are discussed at the conference organized by non-governmental organizations. Political parties attend the meeting as well.

Irakli Kobakhidze, a chairman of the parliament made an announcement before the conference and underlined importance of the Constitutional Commission.

" We are very close to the target, which is set by the Constitutional Commission to the Parliament. It is very important to discuss the constitutional reform in framework of different formats . The Commission has 73 members, representatives of different parliamentary and non-parliamentary parties, constitutional authorities, non-governmental organizations, however, it is important to open up this process further , "- said Irakli Kobakhidze.

After his announcement the meeting was closed for media. The opposition states that Irakli Kobakhidze"s arguments , which refer to the procedure of electing the president, are unacceptable and not serious.

" We heard strange argumentation from the Chairman of parliament, why should the president"s elections be abolished. The point is that the next President should not be charismatic and be more academic figure ,"- says levan Bezhashvili.
