Russian government"s proposal to integrate some military units of Georgia"s breakaway region of South Ossetia into the Russian army to be signed today

Russian government"s proposal to integrate some military units of Georgia"s breakaway region of South Ossetia into the Russian army will be signed in Moscow today.

Official Tbilisi condemns the fact and states that this treaty has no legal force, as it is signed with the occupied region.

" This agreement does not have a legal force, therefore it can not have results. I would like to underline the fact that the whole international community supports our territorial integrity,"- said Sopho Kiladze.

Georgian opposition claims that this agreement is another step towards the country’s annexation. Parliamentary minority calls on the government to be more actively engaged.
" We witness a significant inactivity , which gives Russia an opportunity to act so brazenly, "- said Irakli Abesadze.
