The Interior Ministry has released a statement on the detention of Shota Pakeliani. According to the ministry, on March 23 the police in Isani-Samgori district stopped for checking a young man currently under probationary sentence based on operational information, but he did not obey their legal orders, tried to escape, during which he fell down and received body injuries.

During his search the so-called Bio drugs were seized. After the detainee was transferred to the Police department , he felt ill and it was necessary to transfer him to the hospital, where he told the doctor that the he had taken the so-called Bio.

During the interrogation, the accused said that he found the drugs and when police tried to stop him, was trying to hide the drugs and for this reason swallowed the drugs which subsequently made him sick.

As for the injuries to the body, as the Ministry of the Interior says the detainee was trying to run away and fell down which was the reason of injuries on his body. He states that he has no complaints against the police.
