The Constitutional Commission will finally fix its position on the presidential election rules. Despite the universal protest, the parliamentary majority is not going to change the decision.

"The President has almost all the basic rights. It is here that the Venice Commission recommendation should be taken into consideration and the Council of Justice should have the right. What kind of elections, the electoral system we will have will be finally revealed by the document which will be supported by the majority of the constitutional state commission, " - Eka Beselia said.

"The Georgian people have the right to choose the president. The president"s institute is belittled and we see that it is shattered because the Georgian Dream does not like the current president and in general presidential institute. What the Georgian Dream is offering will only increase uncontrollable executive power, "said Zurab Chiaberashvili, a member of the European Georgia.

The final decision on boycotting the commission may be taken by a part of the opposition today after the meeting with the NGO sector.

 "Constitutional amendments served to ensure full utilization of powers, including legislative levels, and now all the attempts are aimed at deconstruction of state institutions," said Nino Kalandadze, member of the UNM.

The amendments do not support the non-parliamentary opposition too. Free Democrats say that the changes are violating judicial independence.
