Starting from September, Georgia may create a new position in diplomatic missions abroad. This initiative was named by the economic team of the Government of Georgia one of the new directions of the program Produce in Georgia. Attracting investments will be one of the main functions of commercial attachés.

The idea od sending attachés to embassies was discussed several years ago. According to experts, the initiative of the government, which has been known for a year already, is late.

In the opinion of the opposition, additional position will increase bureaucratic costs.

Prior to commencement of commercial attaché activities, the government is planning toactivate its work for increasing investments through the program Produce in Georgia.
