Members of the High Council of Justice are demanding sanctions for abuse of freedom of speech and expression. The members of the council consider that the margin of acceptable criticism of the judicial system and the judges should be defined.

For Eva Gotsiridze, one of the authors of the initiative, tone of media is particularly unacceptable.

The members of the Council say that they will issue additional details about their legislative proposals in the coming weeks.

The Public Defender does not share the arguments of the members of the Council of Justice. So far, it is unknown when the authors of the initiative will apply to the legislators.

The initiative of the Council of Justice was to be discussed at today`s session, but the issue was postponed. The initiators say that additional details will be published at the next session of the Council.
