None of the oppositional representatives attend the session of the Constitutional Commission. The Labor Party has left the session shortly. Giorgi Gugava, Political Secretary of Labor Party criticized the ruling team for carrying out Bidzina Ivanishvili`s interests.

"The presented constitutional project does not serve the interests of the people and the state, it is tailored to Ivanishvili`s personal interests in order to establish dictatorial autocratic rule for many years in the country," said Giorgi Gugava.

First deputy chairperson of parliamentary committee for Diaspora and Caucasus Issues, Salome Zourabichvili noted that the she was in favor of direct elections of the President.

"I supporting the election of majoritarian MPs. Not only of the part but for all 150 seats , which is the most common and democratic form of today`s Europe. As for the presidential elections, I have an initiative to get back to the rule that was in the constitution, "Salome Zourabichvili said.

The commission session will last until the end of the day. From next week, constitutional discussions will start in the regions.
