Arrests of protestors in coonection with demonstartions held in Batumi about a month ago continue. Law enforcers detained Merab Ghoghoberidze, head of one of the non-governmental organizations and detained Irakli Chkhirkvia, a participant of the rally.
They, according to the Interior Ministry, were detained based on the Batumi City Court verdict on charges of organizing criminal offense.
Merab Ghogliberidze was stopped by the patrol police for being for not wearing a safety belt and later detained for disobedience to the police, but due to his health condition he was taken to the hospital from the preliminary detention center and later to the police department
Gogoberidze`s lawyer has complained about the investigation.
