Members of the Venice Commission got acquainted with the package of constitutional amendments. Members of the ruling party and parliamentary minority met with the secretary of the commission in Strasbourg.

The leaders of the European Georgia stated their opinion about the amendments made by the parliamentary majority and announced that the changes restrict citizens` rights and are undemocratic.

Thomas Marker was also informed about the recent developments in the Constitutional Commission and the changes to the voting.for project procedure.

"When the Georgian Dream is confronted with virtually all other political players, the Venice Commission`s conclusion will be of decisive importance and after this conclusion we will know if there is any kind of consensus or some kind of improved system," Davit Bakradze said.

Secretary of the Venice Commission met with majority MPs. According to them, European experts do not have serious claims, but they are ready to take note of their remarks.

"The preliminary position has not been established as or negative or positive on this issue, because naturally, the experts should work on it and then lay down their concrete ideas. All the remarks that will be expressed in the legal sense by the Venice Commission will be taken into account by our side, "said Nino Goguadze, a member of the parliamentary majority.
