Head of the Kenyan Monitoring Mission returned back from border - CEC Chairwoman does not reveal details

"I was to attend an international election conference in Georgia organized by the Global Monitoring Network and the Central Election Commission of Georgia. On arrival at the airport I was asked toshow a passport, visa. Since there is no Georgian consulate in Kenya, I got a visa in South Africa. I had an invitation and a letter of recommendation to indicate the purpose of my visit. The guards asked me to wait. Then the policeman came and told me to follow him. When I asked him where I was going, he told me that i was bein sent back. I was not givena right to ask for explanation why they made me leave me the country, "- said Rafael Mule Musu.

Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission Tamar Zhvania noted that the head of the Kenyan observer mission had encountered problems with regard to the entry in the country, but she did not speak about the additional details.
