The officers of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia has detained an employee of Tbilisi Municipality City Hall- Otar Abesadze on the fact of bribery.

An investigation has established that Otar Abesadze promised to Georgian citizens, that he would get the permit for arrangement of a cafe , ferry and appropriate infrastructure on the river Mtkvari in Tbilisi in the accelerated manner and demanded to pay him 3000 USD in May, 2017 . At the same time, he would ensure that they would not be fined by the employees of the Tbilisi City Hall Supervision Service during the construction works.

According to the information released by the State Security Service, Otar Abesadze took the bribe from one of the citizens yesterday, on July 11.

Investigation is underway on the fact of bribery, under the Criminal Code of Georgia, Article 338, Part 1, which envisages imprisonment from six to nine years .
