We do not consider that direct dialogue with Russia is appropriate - Levan Izoria

A Defense Minister of Georgia comments on illegal activities committed near the occupation lines and the situation in the occupied territories. Levan Izoria responds to the statement, made by the Russian Foreign Minister as well.

Izoria says that the direct dialogue with Russia is not appropriate because the Kremlin does not take concrete steps that will be directed towards de-occupation of Georgia.

According to him, the dialogue should be continued only in international format.

"Russia continues to act against the norms of international law, contradicting the sovereignty of our country, and we do not consider that the direct dialogue with Russia is appropriate because we do not see specific actions aimed at de-occupation of our country.

"Accordingly, we believe that the dialogue should continue in the frameworks of the existing international formats ," says Levan Izoria.

Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Affairs also responds to Sergey Lavrov"s statement. She says that there is a Geneva format to discuss problems of de-occupation and occupied regions.

Aleksandre Jejelava, the Vice Prime Minister does not see the necessity of creating a new format for dialogue with Russia
