Tbilisi mayoral candidate of the National Movement promises to help Tbilisi residents with 1000 GEL assistance for each newborn. Zaal Udumashvili criticized Georgian Dream`s social policy today.

Udumashvili has presented his own plan today at a meeting with a pregnant woman who will not receive assistance from the state under current legislation.

19-year-old Tamta Tetruashvili will become mother of twins in a few months. Only one member works in a 4-member family, which is why their monthly income is minimal. The family does not enjoy state assistance.

Zaal Udumashvili plans to help such families in case of becoming a Mayor. According to the initiative of UNM candidate, the family, which is not socially vulnerable but has annual income is less than 40 thousand GEL per year, will receive 1000 GEL assistance for a newborn

The candidate who has already counted the amount of money required to implement the initiative. says that Tbilisi budget has the financial resources for this.

The Government of Tbilisi currently provides financial assistance only to families with socially vulnerable status.
