If elections are held tomorrow, who would you vote for? - The results of the preliminary research of "Edison Research"

An influential American research company "Edison Research" conducted a survey commissioned by "Rustavi 2". The study covers the period from 22 September to 2 October. Field work was carried out in Tbilisi. All of the respondents are adults and have the right to vote in the capital.

Results of research are as follows:

When asked: "If the Mayor`s elections are held today, who would you vote for?" The answers are as follows:

Kakhi Kaladze - 34%
Zaliko Udumashvili - 14%
Aleko Elisashvili - 14%
Elene Khoshtaria - 5%
Irma Inashvili - 2%
Giorgi Gugava - 2%
Kakha Kukava - 1%
Giorgi Vashadze - 1%
Tengiz Shergelashvili - almost 1%;
I have not decided - 13%
Refuse to answer - 7%
No one - 6%

39% of respondents have anticipated that the second round will be held in Tbilisi mayoral elections. Among the people who expect the second round, 70% think Kakhi Kaladze will take part in the voting. 34% think Zaliko Udumashvili will move to the second round. As for the rest of other candidates, the results are as follows:

Aleko Elisashvili - 21%
Elene Khoshtaria - 9%
Irma Inashvili - 4%
Kakha Kukava - 3%
Giorgi Gugava - 2%
Tengiz Shergelashvili - 1%
Giorgi Vashadze - 1%

The total sum of data exceeds 100%. This is not a mistake, the respondents simultaneously named two candidates who, according to them, would be able to move to the second round, that is why the percentage of the sum is more than 100.

When asked, "who is the Mayoral candidate for whom you will not vote in any situation, even if your favorite candidate does not take part in the elections," the respondents answered the question as follows:

Irma Inashvili - 29%
Zaliko Udumashvili - 24%
Elene Khoshtaria - 23%
Giorgi Gugava - 23%
Tengiz Shergelashvili - 21%
Kakha Kukava - 20%
Giorgi Vashadze - 20%
Kakhi Kaladze - 19%
Aleko Elisashvili - 9%

As for the rating of the parties, the respondents were asked the following question: "If the Tbilisi Sakrebulo elections are held today, which party would you vote for?" The result is as follows:

"Georgian Dream" - 36%
"National Movement" - 12%
"European Georgia" - 8%
"Labor Party" - 5%
"Alliance of Patriots" - 4%
"Democratic Movement" - 1%
"New Georgia" - 1%
"Republican Party" - 1%
I have not decided - 15%
Refuse to answer - 8%
No one - 9%

As for the question, "Which party you will not vote for?" "Which party you do not even consider voting in any situation?" The results were distributed as follows:

"National Movement" - 32%
"Alliance of Patriots" - 27%
"Labor Party" - 22%
"European Georgia" - 21%
"Democratic Movement" - 20%
"Republican Party" - 20%
"Georgian Dream" - 19%
"New Georgia" - 18%

In the survey, the respondents responded to the questions regarding Davit Narmania:

I like him very much - 2%
I like him somewhat - 23%
I do not like him somewhat - 27%
I do not like him - 41%

The same question was asked about former Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava:

I really liked him - 13%
Somewhat liked - 36%
I did not like him somewhat - 20%
I did not like him - 22%

64% of respondents are going to vote in Tbilisi mayoral elections:

Presumably, 19%
Presumably no - 6%
Not sure - 5%

66% of respondents said that participated in the 2014 Mayoral Tbilisi elections.

74% said they voted in the 2016 parliamentary elections - that is, the voters participating in the polls were quite active in elections.

At the same time, 63% think that the country is moving in the wrong direction.

22% say that the country"s development path is correct.

15% do not know or refuse to answer.
