A discredit of the Public Defender"s Institute and the decline of the Ombudsman"s constitutional mandate - the President"s Administration Responds to Criticism of Nanuashvili.

Kakha Kozhoridze, advisor to the President of Georgia on Human Rights and Justice, points out that some of the politicians claim that the Public Defender is the enemy of society.

"This morning, one of the majority MPs made a statement about the Public Defender and I had hoped that in the majority, the common sense would prevail in regard to the Public Defender, but in the afternoon we heard several statements against Ucha Nanuashvili again. In fact, they want to show that the Public Defender is the enemy of society and we are in a very absurd situation, "Kozhoridze said.

"There is an impression that they manipulate with unrealistic and virtual themes," said Kozhoridze.
