A confrontation between policemen and local population ended with a beating of policemen and arrest of nine people. The quarrel was initially started between the inhabitants of Ketskhoveli Street.

According to the current information, the residents were celebrating Easter in the square located on the street. Locals called the patrol police due to noise. Ketskhoveli street residents physically opposed the police .

Employees of the Criminal Police had to help the patrol police to soothe the situation. The patrol police has been called from the central highway as well.

Six out of nine detainees are accused of violating the Article 353 of the Criminal Code, which means gang violence against law enforcers and is punishable by up to seven years of imprisonment.
