Journalist Nodar Chachua of the Georgian Public Broadcasting (GPB) has been detained on charges of purchasing and keeping of large quantities of drugs.

Vasil Maglaperidze, Director of Public Broadcasting, confirmed the information online. According to him, Nodar Chachua was detained yesterday night.

According to the source , the journalist was detained in his house for the purchase and keeping of large quantities of narcotic substances.

Courier contacted the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where the information was neither confirmed nor denied. According to Rustavi2, the police will release the official material tomorrow morning.
